Privacy Notice
Effective October 20, 2026 · Venice Rising
Who is responsible for your data?
Venice Rising operates this events calendar and is the data controller for personal data used to provide the calendar and advertising services. This notice covers events.venicerising.com. External websites, including event organizers and our main website, have their own privacy notices.
Information and how it is used
- Accounts: email address, login credentials, user identifier and session information are used to create accounts, sign you in, control access and prevent unauthorized use.
- Event submissions: event text, images and links, dates, venue and address details, and other listing information are used to review and publish events. Approved listing information is public. Do not include private information or children’s personal information in a submission.
- Advertising and billing records: account and event identifiers, selected plan, transaction, customer and subscription references, payment status and placement dates are used to provide paid placements, manage renewals, process refund requests and maintain business records. Paddle collects and handles checkout payment information under its own privacy notice.
- Support communications: information you provide when contacting us is used to respond and resolve questions.
- Technical information: requests to hosting and external services may include IP address, browser/device information and diagnostic information. This is used to deliver the site, troubleshoot problems and support security and fraud prevention.
Legal bases
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, account access and paid advertising are processed to perform our contract with you or take steps at your request. Reviewing submissions, responding to inquiries and keeping the service reliable rely on legitimate interests, balanced against your rights. Business records may be kept to comply with legal obligations. Where optional consent is required, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Who receives information?
We use service providers for hosting, authentication, data storage and technical delivery, including Lovable Cloud. Google receives technical requests when web fonts load. Calendar map views load tiles from external map services. We may use support providers to handle inquiries. Approved event listing content is visible to visitors.
We share relevant order and account identifiers with Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for product sales, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing. See Paddle’s Privacy Policy for its processing. Data may also be shared with professional legal or accounting advisers and with authorities where required by law.
Retention
We keep account, listing and placement data for as long as needed to provide the service, handle support or disputes and meet legal recordkeeping obligations. Some billing records may need to be retained after an account is closed. Information should be deleted or anonymized when no longer needed for these purposes. You may request deletion, subject to applicable legal requirements.
Cookies and browser storage
The calendar uses essential browser storage to maintain sign-in sessions. Paddle’s checkout and external services may use cookies or storage under their own notices. The calendar does not currently add optional analytics or marketing cookies. You can clear or block cookies and browser storage through your browser settings; doing so may prevent sign-in or checkout from working. Subscription links take you to the main Venice Rising website, whose notice applies there.
Security and international processing
Venice Rising is responsible for taking appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including appropriate access controls and encryption where suitable. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where applicable law requires international-transfer safeguards, appropriate legal safeguards must be used. Contact us with questions about processing locations or safeguards that apply to your data.
Your rights and contacting us
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal data; restrict or object to processing; receive a portable copy; or withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. Where GDPR applies, these rights include access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and consent withdrawal, and requests will be addressed within one month, subject to lawful extensions.
To make a privacy request, contact Venice Rising through our main website and identify the account or listing concerned. Do not send passwords or full payment-card details. Purchase and refund questions can be sent to Paddle support.
